Group Research Projects

During the initial taught year of the Sustainable Infrastructure Systems programme students will undertake a group research project.  These projects are designed to have an international focus on a current infrastructure challenge facing the global community.  The research projects conducted to date have been on dam removal, fish passage and the future of autonomous vehicles.  The aim of these projects is not soley to conduct novel research but teach students to conduct research in a variety of environments and countries, manage a project from inception to completion and among other work as part of a team.  These key skills are essential for successful completion of any PhD project and this programme provides the opportunity to develop them prior to the commencement of the PhD research.
